Challenge #03: The Color Scheme From Hell

This challenge will require you to take a completely blinding/ridiculous/eye-gouging color scheme and working with it to create something aesthetically pleasing. Your homepage must look like your average website. The links don’t have to link anywhere, but it must look as legit as possible.

Your final submission should be an index file and a CSS file, if applicable. Don’t forget to add a footer with your information.

Good luck! Your designs must be submitted by noon (your noon, whatever it is) on February 23, 2008. If you’d like to submit to noon our time (EST), you can check the Timezone Converter. To submit a design, you can e-mail either of us privately with a link to the web directory you were required to create.

This will be an interesting one. Those colors are fine on their own, but HIDEOUS together! I guess that’s the point though…

Oh! I wanted to share with you guys a simple technique for contrast.

Take your design and turn it to grayscale. If everything is still clear and easy to read, then you’re okay. Its what we use in class for our roughs before we move into colour.
